The Travis is a side table built from a single panel of powder coated steel and one turned wood leg. The panel is the body — top and side in one bent piece, rounded at the top corner, sitting flush to the floor on one end and supported by the leg on the other. The leg is turned wood, natural finish. It's the kind of piece that looks simple until you try to improve it and realize there's nothing to improve. The proportions are right (18" in every direction). The materials are right. The single leg does exactly what it's supposed to do — hold one corner up and let the form speak. White is the standard finish. But The Travis is also the piece that takes color well — a deep navy, a warm terracotta, bubble gum pink, a matte black. The form is strong enough to carry any finish you put on it.
